So, you haven’t yet decided whether to attend the 2017 edition of Minnesota PRSA Classics? Well, here are five reasons to sign up for this annual event, which takes place April 20 at The Machine Shop. Plenty of tickets are still available to experience this year’s revamped format.

Celebrate the Craft

Let’s face it, regardless of your company or industry, the communications and marketing department is the most misunderstood and least celebrated in any organization. When the sales department lands record revenues, the bosses throw a party in their honor, showering praise on each and every member of the department, then wonder why the marketing department doesn’t aspire to the same heights of success. Trust me, each one of your peers has felt like this at one time or another. So, why not come out and support the truly outstanding work done by some of the best brand messengers and ambassadors the state has to offer? No one has the ability to better understand the hard work and effort that goes into carefully crafting a quality brand message.

Historical Significance

The Machine Shop is one of the newest, most popular large-event venues in the Twin Cities Metro. The venue resides within the walls of the former Pillsbury Mill, one of the oldest, and most important buildings, in Minneapolis. Pillsbury turned out be one of the largest companies in the United States, helping to put the Twin Cities on the map as a place for large companies to grow. Many Fortune 500 companies, like General Mills (the parent company of Pillsbury), 3M, Best Buy, Target, have their home office based in the Twin Cities. This is your chance to experience one of the structures that allowed the groundwork to be laid for our modern, and vibrant, economic environment.

Mix and Mingle

While we are on the subject of celebrating fellow communicators, wouldn’t it be great to trade ideas and inspiration with some of the most recognized business personalities this market has to offer? Whether you are looking for a new gig, or happy with your current role, no one has ever claimed that having a large professional network is a hindrance on the pathway to success. So, take this opportunity to shake a few hands and trade a few stories with your fellow practitioners of communications.

Gourmet Food and Beverage

Need I say anything more? What would a proper celebration be without some top-shelf food and drink? A choice of three entrees and a free adult beverage are included with every ticket to the event. Take it easy with your co-workers or ‘buy the boss a drink’ and forget about having to pay a huge tab at the end of the night.

New Year, New Program

Organizers for this year’s Classics have asked for, and implemented, suggestions made by society members regarding what can be done to enhance this yearly event. While the awards presentation will continue to be of central importance, a more social aspect will be rolled out for the 2017 edition of the program. The evening is set to include a pre-program social hour, in addition to a fresh list of presenters that will inject their personal influence on this historical event.
