Entering the Student Classics Awards is a great way to show Minnesota PRSA professionals your public relations skills and build your portfolio. The experience of entering the Student Classics Awards – especially if you win – is a great item to put on your resume. All the top PR teams and agencies enter annual awards competitions like the Classics, so writing and submitting an entry is a skill you’ll need throughout your career in PR. Plus, finalists receive complimentary registration to the spring Classics Awards banquet, which is a great way to network with PR professionals.
AWARDS BANQUET UPDATE: Given the March 15 recommendation by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to hold off on any gatherings with 50 people or more until at least mid-May, Chapter leadership has decided to postpone our annual Classics Awards, which were scheduled for May 7, and our Career Coffee event scheduled for May 14. Other events may follow. We’ll keep you apprised.
Classics Awards finalists will still receive awards; we just aren't sure in what capacity yet.
A lot of hard work has gone into planning these events and we hope that they can be rescheduled for later this year. But, who knows what the next few months will bring. This global pandemic has forced us to completely alter how we live our lives and do business.
We are members of PRSA because we love this profession and want to support it. However, our personal safety takes precedent and it’s best to err on the side of precaution.
