Accountants have CPA. Doctors have MD. Lawyers have Esq. We have APR.
If you have been thinking about joining the ranks of thousands of practitioners across the United States who have earned their Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), the time is now. Get Accredited.
Get practical advice from current APRs including: Holly Donato, APR; Emily Finley, APR; Karen Lyons, APR; Sean McDonnell, APR; Joan O’Fallon, APR; Paul Omodt, APR, Fellow PRSA; Janet Swiecichowski, APR, Fellow PRSA; Jacque Smith, APR; and other surprise coaches!
Please come with a campaign or project plan you have developed. And if you want to get a head start on studying for the exam, purchase the textbook, Cutlip and Center’s Effective Public Relations.
The three-hour workshop will cover:
1. Explanation of APR Process
2. Discussion of knowledge, skills and abilities tested (assess your readiness)
3. One-on-one coaching and goal-setting with individual timelines
Any PRSA member in good standing can earn Accreditation. Five years of professional public relations experience is recommended, along with either a bachelor’s degree in a communication-specific field (e.g., public relations, journalism, mass communication) or equivalent work experience.
APR is not just three letters to put behind your name. It’s proof that you have demonstrated broad knowledge and experience, along with strategic and ethical professional judgment in the public relations field.
