Career Coffee: Staying Focused: Career Development Strategies During the Pandemic

2020 has been a challenge for everyone including public relations and communications professionals. Whether you’re a solo consultant, working in a corporate, nonprofit or agency setting, or dealing with the challenges of a layoff or reduced hours and pay, it is important to stay focused and invest in your career development. Regardless of where you’re at in your career, this is a great time to focus on building professional and personal development skills, establishing strategies for navigating during the uncertainty, and reassessing your career path to set yourself up for success. In this interactive discussion, we'll explore strategies for staying focused and investing in yourself as we navigate the pandemic.

Facilitators:

Karen Kodzik possesses a Masters Degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Career Development, demonstrating a career long commitment to helping people realize rewarding careers. She is uniquely qualified as a coach by coupling her formal training as a counselor and a solid business acumen gained as an HR insider for a Fortune 500 corporation. Karen is a popular and passionate trainer, presenter, author and speaker. Karen quickly and easily engages her audience, leaving them empowered and equipped for any career transition.


Liz Reyer is a researcher and leadership coach who draws on her extensive business experience to help clients work through workplace challenges. Liz earned her coaching certification at Royal Roads University, Victoria, BC, Canada, and also has an MA in political science from the Ohio State University. She is the author of Coach’s Corner, which runs weekly in the Star Tribune business section (currently on hiatus).
