Mike Garrison has spent his career questioning, exploring and translating consumer and business behaviors and the culture surrounding them for Fortune 500 companies. In his 18 years as a consumer and brand researcher, Mike has worked with various internal groups such as marketing, programming, strategy, ad sales, acquisitions, digital/new media and new business development. In his current role at Padilla he collaborates with research, account management and creative teams, to help determine how best to arrive at insights that ultimately drive messaging, brand, creative, media, digital and communication strategy.
Prior to joining Padilla. Mike was vice president, senior consumer strategist at Iconoculture (now Gartner) where he lead the Media, Entertainment and Technology group, including client-facing strategic conversations around consumer behaviors and internal consumer trend thinking. Mike’s career began in Consumer and Brand Insights at MTV where he helped facilitate clear, targeted and authentic messages to their audience. Mike has also worked with the Nielsen Interactive Group and the MTV Networks family where he worked under the Nickelodeon Digital and TV brand.
Along with being a researcher, moderator, ethnographer and media strategist, Mike has appeared on various industry panels and routinely speaks and presents at industry and client events. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s degree in English.
