Chanda Smith Baker
Chanda Smith Baker of Conversations with Chanda

Who is Chanda? Chanda Smith Baker is The Minneapolis Foundation’s Senior Vice President of Impact. She has over 20 years of experience working in, for, and with underestimated communities. Chanda is committed to helping us break out of our silos, talk about critical issues together, and be a catalyst for collective change.

Dirk Tedmon, Media Relations Coordinator, Minneapolis Public Schools
Dirk Tedmon is the Media Relations Coordinator for Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS). Serving with the district since 2015, he focuses on working collaboratively with the media to keep the district’s 36,000 families, 7,000 staff, and Minneapolis community informed about what’s happening in MPS schools. He also manages crisis communication and supports internal communication with a focus on openness, transparency, and accessibility. Prior to coming to MPS, Dirk served in the Obama White House where he coordinated messaging and led a team of writers who used the power of stories to engage constituents, help shape President Obama’s policies, and inform national discussions.
